Curtis Cemetery, Limestone, Newton County, AR *********************************************************** Submitted by: Robert and Rosa Cline Date: 31 May 2003 Copyright. All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** "GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN" May 15, 2003 PLEASE NOTE: There are three different Curtis Cemeteries in Newton County. This is our second one to transcribe. One is located between Fallsville and Swain and this one is the second cemetery you will get to driving down into Limestone, and I'm not real sure where the third one is but believe it to be down "in" Limestone. So if you don't see your family in this transcription look at one of the other Curtis cemeteries. Directions this cemetery: From Highway 16 turn off on Newton County Rd 316, located between Nail and Deer, there is a sign at the highway that says Limestone. Follow this right at 2 miles and the cemetery will be on the right hand side of the road. There is no sign for the cemetery,... and if the grass is grown up you will only see a cattle gate. The county road is a dirt/gravel road and so going around and down the mountain is kind of ruff..... We are trying to collect obits for as many people as we can, so if anyone sees their families here we would like to hear from you. Especially if you have anything to add to this informaiton. Or if you see we have it noted that we have an obit that you would like for us to share also we have headstone pictures of all the stones in this cemetery, just e-mail us and we'll be happy to do what we can to share with you. There were stones here that were hard to read, and stones that had been broken, but we've tryed our best to transcribe as best as we could. Anything below the transcription in ( ) is stuff we know about the person mentioned and if it is in ( ) that stuff isn't on the stone. So use only as a guideline in your own research unless a family contact is beside it. As we have no way of making sure the data is 100% correct. I'm making a list at first of everyone there and under this list is the actual sayings & dates from the stones. I am making a list alphabetically before the actual transcriptions so it might make it easier to find someone you're looking for. Then below the list is the transcriptions. Enjoy,..... If anyone has any obits or know anything about any of these people feel free to e-mail us at clinefam@yournet.com We are trying to make these people as "real" as possible so even though they lived 100 or more years ago they truely will be "gone but not forgotten".
