Pruitt (b. May 16,1897-d. Apr.12,1981, buried in Jasper cemetery) said that Pioneers had been buried there for years before engraved monuments were available, and seldom money to buy them when they were. School chilren, cattle and later moweing machines dislodged field stone markers. Harve had six brothers and sisters. He said that in his childhood and youth there was a schoolhouse located on this acre, sharing with cemetery. It was located in the left, near corner(facing cemetery from roadway). Water came from the spring below. Boys took turns bringing up the buckets of drinking water. When he was old enought Harve was taken to school every morning for a week. Every day he ran away, in spite of switchings. Then his parents gave up and Harve never went to school. When the district schools were consolidated in Jasper, this one was abandoned along, with others.
