All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** Published: Harrison Daily Times Tuesday, December 8, 2009 Turnie Hughes, 86, Jasper Turnie Hughes, 86, of Jasper, died Sunday, Dec. 6 (2009) at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison, at the age of 86. A son of Raymond and Otie Sue (Turney) Hughes, he was born Dec. 12, 1922, at Eros. He was a member of the Parthenon Baptist Church and was a Mason. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna (Taylor) Hughes and his parents. Survivors include one son and his spouse, Wayne and Oleta Hughes of Jasper; four daughters and their spouses, Jimmie Sue and Billy Brasel of Parthenon, Ima and Roy Keeton of Harrison, Janie and Jerry James of Marble Falls and Judy and Vernon Fowler of Jasper; one brother, Uvalde Lindsey of Fayetteville; 21 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and three-three-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, at Holt Memorial Chapel. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, at the Parthenon Baptist Church. Brother Bobby Young and Brother Billy Paul Matlock will be officiating. His grandsons will be acting as pallbearers, and honorary pallbearers are his granddaughters and the employees of Hughes Lumber Company. Burial will be at Crawford Cemetery
