Times JAKE HOUSTON, NATIVE OF JASPER DIES Jake Houston, 75, of Everton died October 8. He was a retired glass factory worker and a native of Jasper. He was born March 8, 1890, a son of William and Martha Harp Houston. Survivors include a son, Bee Houston of Hartford City, Ind. two daughters, Bernice Ratcliff of Hartford City, Ind., Gay Swafford of Everton; a brother, Harley Houson (sp) of Pruitt; five sisters, Mrs. Willie Strahan and Mrs. Margaret Lipps of Branson, Mo., Mrs. Clara Collins of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Pearlie McGowan of Sand Springs, Okla., Mrs. Polly Lipps of Hartford City, Ind., eight grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. The funeral was held October 11 at Harrison with burial in the Shaddox Cemetery at Pruitt.
