All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** Harrison Daily Times Tuesday, January 5, 2010 Thomas Edward "Edd" Sexton, 89, of Cowell, died at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center (NARMC) in Harrison on Friday, Jan. 1 (2010). Visitation was from 5 to 7 p. m. Monday, Jan. 4, at Holt Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be at 2 p. m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, at the Deer Gymnasium, with the Rev. Devoe Campbell officiating. Burial will be at Coleman Cemetery at Pelsor. Pallbearers will be James Sexton, Scott Sexton, Glen Foreman, Jim Hampton, Lester Hampton, Roger Hampton and Johnny Hampton. Honorary pallbearers include Ricky, Travis and Trent Williams, Travis and Amanda Stone, Dr. Charles Klepper, Dr. Ron Revard and the staff at NARMC and Bristol Pointe. Thomas was born Nov. 12, 1920, at Mt. Judea, a son of the late Thomas J. and Celia Ann ( Davis ) Sexton. He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a Medical Corpsman in the Army Air Force from January 1943 to November 1945 in the Asiatic Pacific Theater of Operations. His greatest joy in life was being with family and friends. He also enjoyed reading, being outdoors and farming. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Riley and Walter Sexton and Arvil and Harold Swearingen; sisters, Dessie Swearingen and Ora Nichols McElroy. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mary Maxine ( Hampton ) Sexton of the home; a daughter and her husband, Linda and Ricky Williams of Harrison; grandsons, Travis Williams of Richmond, Va. and Trent Williams of Vienna, Va. ; and several nieces and nephews.
