CAPERNAUM CEMETERY

Capernaum Cemetery is an African-American cemetery near Chidester. 
 From Chidester, go out the Chidester-Tate’s Bluff Rd. for 3 miles.  
Turn right on Rd. 340, a dim dirt road, and go 6/10ths of a mile.  
The cemetery will be on your right.  The old Capernaum church 
building was still standing across the road in 2000, but had 
collapsed when I visited the cemetery in 2007.  Several of the 
metal funeral home markers identified in 2000 were no longer readable.
