From the intersection of Hwy. 57 and Hwy. 387, go west toward the lake to first curve and take woods road to the left. Less than 1/4 mile on woods road you will see Pharr Cemetery on your left. Continue on woods road around Pharr Cemetery and you will come to Steele Chapel Cemetery. A new wire fence and gate have been erected around this small cemetery. Inf.- CSA; military marker installed Oct., 2000; a related article appeared in the Nov. 9, 2000 issue of The Camden News (Unknown) – eight graves found marked by rocks; possibly could be others. About 20 metal crosses were placed at the unmarked graves in 2000.
