Hall, her brother-in-law. Miss Pointer was the daughter of Col. Sam Pointer, of Indian Bay, one of the best known planters in Eastern Arkansas and an old time Southern gentleman. Miss Pointer had been living at Turners for some years and was engaged in teaching school. She was a sweet and accomplished young woman and numbered her friends by the score. The fatal illness which cut short her useful and happy young life was hematuria, and was contracted only a few days ago. Miss Pointer was buried, yesterday, near her old home. She leaves an aged father, three sisters, Misses Ethel and Pearl and Mrs. Dr. L. Hall, and a brother, Mr. Ed Pointer. She was a cousin to Mesdames E. C. Hornor and O'Brien, of this city, and Mrs. Emmet Hunter, of Memphis. "The World extends sincerest sympathy to the sorrowing relatives." ***************************************************************************
