HARDY Funeral service for Mark Allen Hardy of West Helena was conducted Wednesday morning, June 14, at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Gene Bates officiated. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park. Mr. Hardy, 29, died June 11, 1995, at his parents’ home near Barton. He was a native of Watervliet, Michigan, night sergeant at the East Arkansas Correctional Facility at Brickeys, a graduate of Barton High School. and a Navy veteran. Survivors include his parents, Mr. And Mrs. Peter Hardy of Barton; a sister, Mrs. Debbie Lowe of Hartford, Michigan; and two brothers, Jeffrey Hardy of Chicago and Timothy Hardy of Pennefield, Kentucky. Pallbearers were James Dunavan, Sean Clancy, Jason Fong, Jeff Smith, John Ladd Jr., Steven Williams, Kurt Miles, and Johnny White. Honorary pallbearers were Chip Dunlap, Captain Fred Brown, Officer Terry Wheeler, Lieutenant Max Dixon, Officer Ricky Thorne, Lieutenant Steve McGehee, Sergeant Jessie Still, Sergeant Abraham Woodard, Sergeant Leslie Dover, Officer Michael Padgett, and Sergeant Cleon Brown. MRS. MILLIE JONES Funeral service for Mrs. Millie Jones of West Helena was conducted Thursday morning, June 15, at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home Chapel. V. O. Snyder officiated. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park. Mrs. Jones, 77, died Monday, June 12, 1995, at Helena Regional Medical Center. She was a retired employee of Bobbie Brooks Garment Company; a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, and a native of Cherry Valley. She had served as head deaconess and treasurer of the Seventh Day Adventist Church since 1962. Pallbearers were Roy Reynolds, Howard Waddell, Joe Tom Cunningham, Ernest Cunningham, Buddy Grant and Sam Brocato. The family request memorials to be sent to the Seventh Day Adventist Church. MRS. ELVIE NEW Funeral services for Mrs. Elvie Doris Dickey New of Hughes was conducted Friday afternoon, June 16, at the First Baptist Church of Hughes. Rev. Carroll Evans officiated. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Park. Services were arranged by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home of West Helena. Mrs. New, 82, died Tuesday, June 13, 1995, at Crestpark Nursing Home in Forrest City. She was member of the First Baptist Church of Hughes. Survivors include her husband, Fred New of Hughes; one son, Wayne New of Natchitoches, Louisiana; five daughters, Katherine Eddleman of Aubry, Betty Goodman of Cleveland, Mississippi; Rose Ann Thomas of Poplar Grove; Glenda Eversmeyer of Jackson, Mississippi; Linda Braden of Combine, Texas. She was preceded in death by son Fred New, Jr. Pallbearers were by grandsons.
