CARDEN, JR. Funeral service for Joseph C. Carden, Jr. of West Helena was conducted Tuesday afternoon (Aug. 1997) at Roller Citizens Funeral Home. The Rev. Cornelia DeLee officated. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park. Mr. Carden, 73, died Saturday at his home in West Helena. He was a retired Helena Cotton Oil Mill employee, a native of Alabama and a member of the West Helena United Methodist Church. He wa a World War II Air Force and was past commander of American Legion Post 44. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth "Liz" Carden of West Helena; two sons, Wayne Carden of West Memphis and Bill Carden of Searcy; a sister, Mrs. Louise Daidson of West Helena; two brothers, Jack Carden of Smith, Alabama and Hugh Carden of Hendersonville. Pallbearers were Dale Ishamel, Glen Oxner, George Aitkens, James Buford, W. J. Rice and Louis Barger. MRS. PAULINE WHITE Funeral service for Mrs. Pauline McDaniel White of West Helena was conducted Saturday afternoon at rollers- Citizens Funeral Home Chapel. Mike Jeffress, minister at the Richmond Hill Church of Christ, officiated. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park. Mrs. White, 75, died Wednesday at her home. She was a homemaker and a membe of Richmond Hill Church of Christ. Survivors include a son, Joe White of Searcy; four daughters, Mrs. Cindy Fridell of Searcy, Mrs. Frances Holland of West Helena, Mrs. Christy Perkins of Lambrook, and Mrs. Joan Traylor of Simi Valley, California; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
