All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** (Dallas Morning News, Nov. 7, 1923) Greenville, Texas, Nov. 6, 1923 - Ed Harvey was fatally injured and his 10-year- old son, Otis Harvey, and son-in-law, Raymond Nash, were seriously hurt when a west bound L. R. & N. passenger train struck the truck in which the men were riding at a grade crossing about a mile east of Cumby, Hopkins Co., (Texas,) about 4:30 o’clock Tuesday afternoon. They were placed on the train and brought to Greenville for treatment. Mr. Harvey died in a local hospital Tuesday afternoon soon after reaching here, but physicians said the other victims will recover. The men are from Mena, Ark., and were en route to Phoenix, Ariz., when the accident occurred. Mrs. Harvey and her daughter, Mrs. Nash, were traveling ahead in a touring car and had crossed the track when the accident occurred.
