It is believed by family members that the bible passed from Richard Young and Caroline Susannah Linam Chambers Young to Robert D. M. Young and Tabitha Vaughan Young to William Richard Young and Alta Haskins Young. Each lady added some bits of information. The records seem to be in two parts. Part I consists of Young family information. Part II consists of Vaughan family information. Part I Note: Richard Young was born in 1805 in South Carolina. His eldest children by wife Pernesa Jane McKinley were all born in Tennessee. All that is known about Pernesa's family is that her mother was Nancy Miller McKinley. By 1841, Richard Young was in Pope County, Arkansas. His second set of children, by his second wife, Caroline Susannah Linam Chambers Young, were born in Pope County, Arkansas. Caroline's parents were John Hodges Linam and Judith Teague Linam of Lawrence County, Tennessee, originally from Union District, South Carolina. His eldest children, by his first wife Francis Hughs, were born in Tennessee. His second set of children, with second wife Charlotte Angeline Bringle Scarlett, were born in Pope County, Arkansas. Charlotte Angeline Bringle Scarlett was the daughter of Jessee and Margaret Bringle. According to Pope County tax records, Edward Vaughan was in Pope County, Arkansas, by 1847.
