Lillian Shatswell Lillian Pearl Shatswell, 91, born Lillian Crutchfield on July 28, 1914, passed away in Corona, Calif. Living in Johnson and Pope Counties for most of her life, she was devoted to her family. Valuing tolerance and education, she encouraged everyone in her family to excel in all things, regardless of background or abilities—many becoming entrepreneurs, artists, musicians, preachers, doctors, nurses, lawyers and thinkers, and all being raised to be genuinely good people. We cherish and miss you grandma, abuelita—your cookies, your laugh, your smile, your touch. She is survived by her children, Dwayne Cowell, Reba Pugh, Marion Shotswell, and Etta Garcia, and more than 13 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 8, from 6-8 p.m. at Humphries Funeral Service, located at 2801 West Main Street, Russellville, Ar. 479-968-4411. _____________________________ Emma Evans Emma Jean Nichols Evans, age 77, of Plumerville, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2006. She was born Feb. 27, 1929 in Plumerville, a daughter of Clark Nichols and Alma Cates Nichols. She was retired from Levi Strauss, a homemaker and a member of the Portland Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, William "Tobe" Evans of Plumerville; two brothers, Harold Nichols of Morrilton and Billy Nichols of Fort Smith; one sister, Marie Duvall of Franklin, North Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were Thursday at Portland Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Lindy Davis officiating. Burial was at Plumerville Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Pallbearers were David Duvall, Drake Nichols, James Nichols, Randy Deaver and Mike Nichols. _________________________________ Betty Tucker Betty Lavon Tucker, 62, of Dardanelle died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006 at her home. She was born June 5, 1944 at Cardon Bottoms to Dale and Ruby Hubbard Robinson. She was a member of the Ola Freewill Baptist Church and was a Computer Program Consultant for the Grain Industry. She was preceded in death by her father. Survivors include her husband, Truman B. Tucker, Jr. of Dardanelle; two daughters and on son-in-law, Tammy and Joe Peak of Atkins and Tracie Tucker of Dardanelle; three granddaughters, Kelsey, Katie and Kallie Peak of Atkins; mother, Ruby Robinson of Centerville; several other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 6 at 2 p.m. at the Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with Rev. Bobby Wells and Rev. Donald Walker officiating. Interment will be in Brearley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mitch Mobley, Brad House, Buster Elliott, Mitch Emberson, Donnie Douglas and Tom Howard. Honorary pallbearers will be the Staff of the Dardanelle Family Clinic, Dardanelle Hospital and St. Mary’s Cancer Center. Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home in Dardanelle. _________________________________________ Scott Church Scott Thomas Church, 37, of Robertstown, passed away Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006. He was born Dec. 9, 1968, in Morrilton. He was a Dry kiln Operator at Pinecrest Lumber, member of the Masonic Lodge #473, and of the Baptist faith. Scott was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, and brother, who loved spending time with his family, especially hunting, riding horses, camping and fishing. He was a true friend who was always willing to help anyone in need. Scott was loved very much by his family and all who knew him, and will be missed greatly. He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, L.M. (Dooger) Reid and paternal grandparents, Ruby and Odell Church. Survivors include his wife, Renee Bird Church of Robertstown; daughter, Brittany Church of the home; parents, Bob and Sandra Church of Robertstown; maternal grandmother, Dovie Jo Reid of Robertstown; brother, Bobby (Robin) Church of Hattieville; nieces, Lani Church, Emily Bird, Lindsey Bird, Makayla Bird; nephews, Ben Church Caleb Bird, and Landon Bird; father and mother-in-law, Robert and Juanita Bird; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Graveside services were Thursday at Robertstown Cemetery with Joey Hanna and James Chronister officiating. Arrangements were by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Pallbearers were Mark Maxwell, Jamie Smith, Gary Carr, Steve Hartman, Mark Price, and Scott Ward.
