She was born at London, Pope County, Arkansas on August 11, 1915, the first of nine children of John William and Mary Jane (Whiteley) Hink. After the births of two more daughters, the family moved to Tupelo, Coal County, Oklahoma in 1920. Wilma graduated from Tupelo High School and attended present-day East Central State University at Ada. She married Noah Lee Culver in 1949 in Texas. He died in 1962. Survivors include three children, a brother and four sisters, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was buried April 9, 1999 at Jesse, Coal County, Oklahoma, next to her husband.
