VERA ELIZABETH OURY 

Vera Elizabeth Oury (my mother) was born September 20, 1900 in Little 
Rock, Arkansas.  She was the daughter of Annie Florence Dutton and 
William Lyle Oury, Jr.  She married Jess Pegram when she was only 18 
years old, divorced him and married my father, Harry Burke Carrington, 
when she was 20.  They had one other child, my brother, Billy Joe
Carrington.  We all moved to Memphis, Tennessee in 1929 and she lived 
there until 1975, when she died on November 29.  Her claim to fame is 
that she was a "wife and mother" and did a very good job of each!
