New York Times, Jan. 12, 1932 - Little Rock, Ark., Jan. 11 - James E. Chapple,
55, cashier of the Arkansas Gazette, died today of Bullet wounds received
Saturday when he was robbed of the newspaper’s payroll by a bandit. Charles and
Don Pierce, arrested an hour after the crime, were charged with first degree
murder, following Chapple’s death.
