Obituary: Elbert Hartwell English - Judge H. E. English, Chief Justice of the
Arkansas Supreme Court, died yesterday at Asheville, N.C. The body will be taken
to Little Rock for interment. He was elected Chief Justice in 1854, 1860, and
1880. He was for twelve years the Masonic Grand Master for the state. New York
