Steele, 83 years old - Mother of Thomas W. Steele and Mrs. Nettie P. Dortch: Mrs. Elizabeth B. Steele, Aged 83, died at 2:30 Thursday morning, July 18, 1919, at her home about four miles southwest of Scott. Mrs. Steele was a daughter of George W. and Susan Little, and was a sister of the late Col. Robert A. Little. She was born in 1835, near Wadesboro, North Carolina, and was married to Thomas W. Steele in 1852. In 1856, she migrated west to Arkansas with her husband and carved out a plantation on what was then the bank of the Arkansas River, about 15 miles below Little Rock. She and her family have resided there continuously since that time. Her husband, Col. Thomas W. Steele, died in 1900. Mrs. Steele is survived by two children, Thomas W. Steele and Mrs. Nettie P. Dortch; eight grandchildren, Thomas W. Steele, Jr, Mrs Bruce (Eloise) Ellis, Elizabeth Steele, T. S. Dortch, W. P. Dortch, George Dortch, W. H. Dortch and Robert Dortch, a Lieutenant in the National Army, and one great Grandson, Thomas Steele Ellis. Funeral services will be held from the All Soul's Church, Scott, at 10 o'clock Friday morning. The pallbearers will be: W. R. Costin, A. L. Alexander, Charles N. Alexander, Frank Breedlove, M. L. Walt and Mark Valentine. All of the pallbearers were members of her Sunday School class at Scott. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery at Little at 12 o'clock Friday ************************************************************************
