Shelby Co., Tn Marriages & Misc. Newspaper Clippings 1835-1846

NOTE:  American Eagle is a Ft. Pickering newspaper.  All others are
Memphis newspapers.  Instant (inst.) means within the current
month.  Ultimo (ult.) means in the previous month.


"Married – On Tuesday evening last by the Rev. Philip W. ALSTON, Dr.
Solon BORLAND, editor of the "Western World", to Miss Eliza B. HART
– all of this place.  Memphis Enquirer, Friday, 7/26/1839."


Fay Hempstead's book "A Pictoral History of ARKANSAS From Earliest Times
to Year 1890" says, to wit; "His second wife was a Mrs Hunt, of
Tennessee, who lived only a few months after marriage."

I believe his second wife is listed in 1840 census of "Borlon", but died
before Solon entered Lousiville Medical Institute.
