She was born Nov. 15, 1917, in Amarillo, Texas, to L.D. and Mollie Bird Perry. The Rev. Batt met and married Dennis Woodrow Batt on Feb. 5, 1933, in Tucumcari, N.M. and later moved to the Lubbock area in 1948 from California. He died Oct. 7, 1966. Grace was a homemaker and later became pastor of Word of Life Tabernacle (WLT) from June 17, 1963 to 1998. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Edward D. Batt; one granddaughter, Jeanean Gonzales; one great-grandson, Travis Gonzales; and one great-great-grandson, Hunter Adcox. Survivors include the family of her late husband; two sons, Dennis W. Batt Jr. and family of Aurora, Colo. and Thomas C. Batt and family of Benton; two daughters, Doris H. Earp and family of Benton and Mollie D. Gattin and family of Waxahachie, Texas; one sister, Geraldine Wajdik and family of California; 18 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. today at White Funeral Home in Lubbock, Texas, with the Rev. Lyndon Petty officiating. Burial will be in Petersburg Cemetery in Lubbock, Texas.
