He was born March 5, 1920, in Haskell, Ark. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1941-1945. He retired from Alcoa after 30 years. He was a member of Mt. Harmony Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Beaty and Mattie and John Funk, and his wife of 56 years, Lexie Edith. Survivors include two sisters, Irene Collins and Angie Westbrook, both of Haskell; one son and daughter-in-law, Dalton and Betty Beaty of Hot Springs; one granddaughter and spouse, Sherry and Bobby Robinson of Benton; three grandsons and spouses, Erik and Jennifer Beaty, Rob and Jeana Kelley and Jeff and Sherri Beaty, all of Benton; six grandchildren, Keeley Holder, Kyleigh Robinson, Garrett Beaty, Gunter Beaty, Meagan Kelley and Cole Keeley, all of Benton; and special friends, Brenda Nalley of Benton and Mildred Westbrook of Haskell. A funeral service, by Ashby Funeral Home, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Mt. Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Haskell with burial to follow at New Rosemont Cemetery. The Rev. Ben Palmer and the Rev. W.A. Dillard will officiate. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
