Aimee Elizabeth Boatman, 37, of Portland, Texas died Monday, July 10, 2006, at her home. She was born June 25, 1969, in Benton.

Mrs. Boatman was a school teacher for nine years in the Gregory-Portland School District. She taught third and fourth grades and was involved in the reading recovery program for three years.

Survivors include her parents, Martha and Arlon Boatman of Portland, Texas; two brothers, John Boatman and wife Connie of Conway and Jeff Boatman and wife Kimberly of Portland, Texas; one sister, Lisa Larson and husband Bruce of Austin, Texas; four nieces, Chloe, Claire, and Erica Larson and Ana Boatman; two nephews, Wyatt Boatman and Jordan Boatman; her maternal grandmother, Lois Compton of Benton; and her caregiver of the last four years, Mrs. Bea Perez of Portland, Texas.

A Mass was celebrated Thursday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Arrangements are by Limbaugh Funeral Home of Portland, Texas.

Family comments: Teaching was a job she loved and missed doing, but continued to teach us about life even in her illness.
