Marjorie Dixon Brazil, 89, of Benton died Thursday, July 13, 2006.

She was born July 16, 1916, in Sweet Home to John and Mattie Dixon.

Mrs. Brazil moved in 1949 to Bauxite, where she was active in church, school and community activities. She moved to Benton in 1961.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Cosmopolitan Club, and volunteered with the American Red Cross bloodmobile. She also worked with the State Hospital Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John E. Brazil; and one son, Jack Brazil.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Carolyn Brazil; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at Ashby Funeral Home, with Dr. George McCoy officiating. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander.

Visitation was Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Bauxite Historical Association Museum and/or First United Methodist Church of Benton.
