All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** Arkansas Democrat-Gazette April 24, 2002 Benton - David Walton Carter, 86, of Benton, Manager, then owner, of his beloved Western Auto Association store for 45 years, died Sunday, April 21, 2002, at his home. He was born Aug. 4, 1915, in Benton to the late David Joseph and Myrtle Rupp Carter. Mr. Carter was a member of the Benton Lions Club since March of 1946; his health prevented his attendance for three years. He attended First United Methodist Church for 72 years. Mr. Carter was preceded in death by one brother, William (Bill) Carter. Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-one years, Sybol Cain Carter; two brothers, Dan and his wife, Toby, Ted and his wife, Sylvia; three sisters, Dorris Carter, Peggy Carter and Patsy and husband, Joe Ioup; nephews, Teddye, David, Billy, Dan Carter and Joe Carter Ioup; nieces, Anna Mary Carter, P. J. Reed, Dottie Lobbs and Jeannie Long. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at Old Rosemont Cemetery. The minister will be Rev. Victor Green. Visitation will be 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday April 23, 2002 at Ashby Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer Association, 10411 W.
