He was born Jan. 4, 1943, in Benton. Mr. Drennan dedicated his life to the ministry. He enjoyed smallmouth bass fishing, float fishing and riding motorcycles. He was a member of Faith in Action Fellowship Ministerial Organization, and a former member of the International Ministerial Association. He and his wife are the founders of Calvary Covenant Ministries. He is preceded in death by his father, Alfred Drennan; grandparents, Earl and Mabel Ledbetter; and grandmother, Ada Griffin. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Raylene; four children, Donny Drennan Jr. and wife Martha Ann, Denise Horne and husband Ronnie, David Drennan and wife Teri; and Darin Drennan and wife Sherry; 10 grandchildren, Timothy, Karagen, Landon, Ryan, Daks, Dane, Deacon, Anna Lee, Ashley and Abigail; his mother, Margaret Nadine Drennan; one brother, Darrell Drennan; one sister, Debbi Hefner; and several nieces, nephews and members of his church family. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Griffin Leggett-Forest Hills Funeral Home in Alexander. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Don Drennan Memorial Fund, in care of Metropolitan National Bank. Family comments: His real passion in life was his family; he never left his family without saying, "I love you."
