Fagan, one of the best known ex-Confederate Generals In Arkansas, died last evening after a brief illness, surrounded by the members of his family. Gen Fagan has many friends throughout the South who will be sadly grieved when they learn that he has answered the last roll call. During the war he was regarded as an admirable soldier who never shirked his duty no matter how hazardous the undertaking which he was called to engage in. As a citizen he was an upright and honorable gentleman, always genial, an excellent companion, who always had a good word for everybody, and was always ready to forgive and forget any injury he suffers at the hand of others. He had many very warm and dear friends and the announcement of his death will be a sad blow to all of them.
