Arrangements are pending with Ashby Funeral Home Erma Dorothy Thrash Gray, 87, of Benton died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006. She was born Dec. 5, 1918, in Kirby in Pike County to Hardy T. Thrash and Rosie Rene Foshee Thrash. Mrs. Gray was a homemaker, wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Edward Thrash; and two sisters, Florene Norris and Devoy Collier. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Charles L. Gray; five sons, Charles Lee Gray Jr and wife Judy of Pinckney, Mich., Thomas Edward “Tommy” of Monticello and fiancée, La Wanda J. Jarrett of McGehee, Robert Lynn “Bobby” Gray and wife Sherry of Benton and William Hardy “Bill” Gray and wife Karla of Bryant; one sister, Bobbie L. Thrash Brown of Malvern; nine grandchildren, Charles L. Gray III of San Diego, Calif., Theresa D. “Tess” Kilcrease of Monticello, LeeAnn K. Dohring of San Diego, Ted P. Gray of Monticello, Crystal M. Gray of Pasadena, Calif., Jacob R. Gray of Benton and Brooke R. Gray, Matthew H. Gray and Megan D. Gray, all of Bryant; five great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and other relatives. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Ashby Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bill Howard officiating. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Ebenezer Cemetery in Kirby. Pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Family comments: She had a great love and admiration for her family and friends. She enjoyed working, gardening, sewing and spoiling her family. She will be forever in our hearts.
