Hardin, 86, of Benton died Monday, Oct. 16, 2006. He was born July 29, 1920, in Bauxite to George and Ida Hardin. Mr. Hardin was a World War II Navy veteran and of the Church of Christ faith. He was retired from Reynolds Metals Co., where he was a dragline operator. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hardin was preceded in death by his wife, Jewell Hardin; a brother, Charlie Hardin; and two sisters, Eunice Eakins and Ethel King. Survivors include a son, Raymond Hardin of Alexander; a brother, Roy Hardin of Haskell; four sisters, Evalon Cash of North Carolina, Allene Murphy of New Carlisle, Ohio, Carol Jean Allen of Lamar and Nancy Ann Ford of Butlerville; two grandchildren, Darrell Hardin of Alexander and Donna Byerly of Corpus Christi, Texas; and three great-grandchildren, Kelly, Kaitlin and Jacob Byerly, all of Corpus Christi. Funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Ashby Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis Kyle officiating. Burial will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
