Alton L. Hawkins, 74, of Benton died Friday, Aug. 11, 2006.

He was born March 21, 1932, in Martin County, Ind., to the Rev. Robert P.
Hawkins and Melissa Jones Hawkins.

Mr. Alton was of the Methodist faith and worked in the ministry.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, William H. Hawkins.

Survivors include his wife, Sue E. Hawkins; one son, Micah Lee Hawkins; two
stepsons, Philip Scott Pharis and David Blake Pharis; one brother, Robert L
Hawkins of Odon, Ind., two sisters, Ruth Ann Myers of Washington, Ind., and
Wilma Dahuff of Spencer, Ind.; and five grandchildren.

Memorials will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Paul United Methodist Church in
Little Rock, with the Revs. John Dill and John Fleming officiating.

Memorial services in Washington, Ind., will be held at Otterbein United
Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, with the Rev. Brett Myers
officiating
