All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** John David "J.D." Hines died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999. He was 79. Hines was born May 19,1919, in Bauxite to Will and Maudie Hines. He married Elizabeth Maxine Fowler Dec. 24,1942. He worked at Alcoa for 18 years and then worked for 26 years for the Bauxite School District. He had a lifelong love of sports and fishing and in later life became an avid gardener. He was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church and a World World 11 Army veteran. He was preceded in death by an infant son; and another son, Billy D. Hines. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Maxine Hines; two sons, Gerald L. Hines. and his wife, Veneta, and T Max Hines, and his wife, Linda, all of Benton; five grandchildren, Thresa L. Hines of Cave Springs Stephannie Baugman, Eric Hines, Amanda Hines, and Kylee Homan, all of Benton; four brothers, Clarence Hines, Herman Hines and Jimmy Hines, all of Bauxite, and Roy Eugene Hines of Buckville; a sister, Darla Duncan of Bauxite; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral was held at 10 a.m. today at Ashby Funeral Home. Burial followed at Pinecrest Memorial Park. The Rev. Jimmy Scott and Bob Weigel officiated. Wayne Fowler, Tommy Hines, Dan Smith, Gary Fowler, Robert Dale Garner, Bobby Garner, Jay Duncan, Paul Hines and Ricky Hines served as pallbearers.
