A. G. Hockersmith Jr., Of Benton, Dies at 38 Benton, July 24.

A. G. Hockersmith Jr., aged 38, died Sunday afternoon after a heart attack on
the Benton Golf Course.

Mr. Hockersmith was a lifelong resident of Benton and a graduate of Benton
publics schools. 

He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of First Methodist
Church. He had been a city alderman here for a number of years.

For a number of years he was employed by the Arkansas Louisiana Gas Company and
at the time of his death was office manager and co-owner of the Benton Plumbing
Company. He was a former district manager of the Metropolitan Insurance Company.
He was a member of the Benton Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Martha Jean Hathcoat Hockersmith; two sons,
Mike and Tim Hockersmith of Benton; a daughter, Joyce Hockersmith of Benton; his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Hockersmith of Benton, and a brother, James Lee
Hockersmith of Texas.

Funeral plans will be announced by Ashby Funeral Service of Benton.
