R. L. "Roy" Landers of Gervais, Ore., a former resident of this area, died
Saturday in Salem Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were to be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Howells and Edwards
Funeral Chapel in Salem, Ore. Interment was to be in City View Cemetery in
Salem.

Mr. Landers was born Sept. 10, 1904 in Benton, Ark. He moved to this area when
young with his parents, Albert Landers and Zonie Burks Landers. He was a member
of Capital Baptist Church in Salem.

Survivors include his wife, Francis Whitlock Landers; three sons. R. L. Landers
of Mineral Wells, Kenneth Landers of Grevais, Ore., and Roger Landers of Grants
Pass, Ore.; six daughters, Floma Hargus, Katherine Sanderson, and Evelyn Meeks,
all of Salem. Janelle Sorrette of Jackson, Miss., Orlean Osburn of Altus, Okla.,
and Barbara Curths of Albany, Ore.; 20 grandchildren; and 12 great-
grandchildren.
