All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** - from Benton Courier Obit Cleda "Eloise" Magness, 85, of Benton died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006, at Saline Memorial Hospital. She was born April 1, 1921, in Newark to Thomas Benjamin Magness and Lena Leota Salvage Magness. Mrs. Magness had retired as a legal secretary for the state of Arkansas and served in the WACs on Gen. Douglas McArthur's staff during World War II. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include one son, Jay Brentlinger and wife Tammy of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one granddaughter, Alex Brentlinger of Scottsdale; one grandson, Devon Brentlinger of Scottsdale; former husband, Jayson Russell Brentlinger of Carefree, Ariz.; three nieces, Yvonne Nall and husband David of Benton, Willene Hutchinson of Benton and Bennie Alberius and husband Al of Little Rock; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joe Campbell officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander. Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Nall, Jerry Nall, Randy Whitley, Gary Ballard, Terrell Woodall and Dewain Stone. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hot Springs VFW, Thaddeus H. Carraway Post 2278 or the Saline Memorial Hospice.
