She was born Jan. 9, 1924, near Sheridan. Mrs. McAlister was retired from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department and the Arkansas School for the Blind, a charter member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church in Little Rock and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was an honorary lifetime member of Little Rock PTA, and an original founder of Little Oaks Ball Park in Mabelvale. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow W. McAlister; one sister, Oneal Clark; and two brothers, Stamps and A.I. “Junior” Sheppard. Survivors include four children, Woody McAlister and wife Susie of Odessa, Mo., Bennie Prince and husband Weldon of Hot Springs, Larry McAlister and wife Tammy of Horatio, and Reggie Cobb and husband Don of Perryville; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ashby Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
