George Henry Medal 87, of Benton died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006.

He was born Jan. 15, 1919, in Chicago, Ill.

Mr. Medal who enjoyed fishing, gardening, and working in his yard. He
was an Army veteran of World War II, receiving a Bronze Star, Battle
STHR and ETO Ribbon and Combat Infantry Badge. He was co-founder of the
PEER Organization, member of Telephone Pioneers, American Legion and an
original member of the Elks Club.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Georgiana; two daughters,
Andrea Price and husband Gary and Sharon Kemp and husband Gus; two sisters,
Lorraine Bondlow and Violet Dietz; seven grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Griffin Leggett Forest
Hills in Alexander.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a local American Legion post.
