He was born Jan. 15, 1919, in Chicago, Ill. Mr. Medal who enjoyed fishing, gardening, and working in his yard. He was an Army veteran of World War II, receiving a Bronze Star, Battle STHR and ETO Ribbon and Combat Infantry Badge. He was co-founder of the PEER Organization, member of Telephone Pioneers, American Legion and an original member of the Elks Club. He is preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Georgiana; two daughters, Andrea Price and husband Gary and Sharon Kemp and husband Gus; two sisters, Lorraine Bondlow and Violet Dietz; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills in Alexander. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a local American Legion post. Family comments: He was a proud American.
