All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** John E. Morris, 88, of Bryant died Tuesday, July 11,2006. He was born Aug. 3, 1917, in Mountainburg to Emmett and Virginia Morris. Mr. Morris retired after 28 years with the U.S. Postal Service. He served in the Army during World War II and achieved the rank of sergeant. He was a charter member of Parkview Christian Church for 50 years. He won awards for volunteer work at Bryant Senior Activity Center, where he delivered meals and provided transportation for those who could no longer drive. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Virgie Hughes Cox Morris; and one grandson, John Jay Cox. Survivors include one son, James Cox and wife Alice of Mabelvale; one grandson, Roger Cox; one granddaughter, Jayme Cox Pultro; one great- granddaughter, Tyler Cox; five great-grandsons, Nick and Jake Pultro, Ryan Cox, Zack Pultro and Josh Pultro, all of Bryant; and nieces, nephews and friends. A celebration of his life will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills in Alexander. Memorials may be made to Parkview Christian Church in Little Rock. Family comments: John enjoyed baseball, baseball trivia, he was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
