All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** Beulah Mae Prickett Beulah Mae Prickett, 91, of Malvern died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2006, at Arbor Oaks Healthcare Center. She was born Aug. 20, 1915, in Benton to A.G. and Lillie White Wise. Mrs. Prickett was reared and received her early education in Benton. She graduated from Benton High School in 1933. She earned her baccalaureate degree from Henderson State Teachers College in 1955 and her master's degree from East Texas State University in 1966. Before coming to Malvern in 1944, she had taught school in Benton, Poyen and Glen Rose. She retired from Fields Elementary School in Malvern in 1977, after serving 17 years as principal. She was an owner and bookkeeper of Prickett Dairy, prior to her teaching career. A member of First United Methodist Church, where she had taught Sunday school and served on the Administrative Board, some of her other memberships included the Arkansas Education Association and the Malvern Junior Service League. She also taught art classes in her home for many years, with four of her students winning state awards. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include one brother, A.G. Wise of Avinger, Texas; three nieces, Jeannie Gregory and husband Troy of Malvern, Carlee Anderson and Donna Larsen and husband Lee, all of Texas; and a great-niece, Kim Lumsden and husband Gary of Little Rock. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at J.A. Funk Funeral Home in Malvern, with the Rev. Jan Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Old Rosemont Cemetery in Benton. Pallbearers will be Mike Burris, John Dugan, Larry Ledbetter, Cary Young, Raymond Cheatham and Gary O'Neal. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Hunt, Charles Sandage, Bob McMullen, Bruce Burton and all her fellow teachers and former pupils. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
