Family comments: A special thanks to Russell Burton, M.D., Buddy Grifford, Saline Memorial Hospital and special caregiver, Deronda Overton. At the age of 95, the passing of our beloved father and papa is the end of one of the oldest generations in Saline County as well as a fourth generation Arkansan. He was a strong man who loved his country and state and always stood strong for what he believed, setting an example for others. As many of his generation, he persevered and survived the hardships of a depression and World War - but never lost his optimism or faith in the human spirit and his fellowman. He and our mother (grandmother) were a team that never lost focus of what is important in life, always putting family first, and we dearly loved them for it.
