All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** Walter Barham Ridgell, 89, of Little Rock died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006. He was born Nov. 14, 1916, in Prescott to Walter Ridgell and Sallie Barham Ridgell. Mr. Ridgell enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hunting and fishing. He was a cabinet maker for Mechanics Lumber and worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He was a Mason and an ordained deacon at Indian Springs Baptist Church. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Marie Stuart Ridgell; three children, Mary Stanton and husband Ted of Alexander, Sandra Kay Sipes and husband Mike of Alexander and Bob Ridgell and wife Ann of Oologah, Okla.; 12 grandchildren, Mark, Alisa, and Eric Stanton, Kevin Ridgell, Krista Crenshaw, Scott and Michael Shearer, Melissa Halley, Lynn Melikian and Karen and Michael Sipes; and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Indian Springs Baptist Church with the Revs. Tom Williams and R.D. Harrington officiating. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. Pallbearers will be Mark Stanton, Scott Shearer, Kevin Ridgell, Michael Shearer, Bruce Crenshaw, Baker Halley and Tom Smart. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Stanton, Michael Sipes, Tommy Young and members of the Senior Adult Men's Bible Class. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Funeral Home in Little Rock.
