All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** Ulysses M. “Mark” Roberts Jr., 75, of Benton died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006. He was born Feb. 5, 1931, in Russellville to Ulysses M. Roberts Sr. and Lucy Victoria Harden Roberts. Mr. Roberts was retired from ABF Freight Systems/ETMF, a member of the Million Mile Safe Driver Club and a lifetime member of NRA. He was a 32nd-Degree Mason of Pulaski Heights Lodge, Scottish Rites. He served in the Navy and attended Crossroads Baptist Church. He also was former treasurer for the Teamsters Retirement Fund and a member of Good Sams Camping Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Eugene Roberts, Troy Roberts, Coy Roberts and Fred Roberts; and two sisters, Dorothy Carter and Joyce Ott. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Blanche Miller Roberts; three daughters, Victoria Lynn Parker of Collierville, Tenn., and Jacqueline Sue Flowers and husband Ernie and Rebecca Ann Roberts, all of Benton; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Arley Roberts and wife Irene of Dover; four sisters, Edith Neussen, Imogene Terrell and Inez Sprenger, all of Wichita, Kan., and Jean Sanchez of Los Angeles; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bob Wiegel officiating. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. Serving as pallbearers will be Rayburn Cockman, James Parker, Grant Bonner, Luke Flowers, Arley Roberts and Ernie Flowers. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Strawn, Gene Martin and Bud Wright. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Saline Memorial Hospice or Crossroads Baptist Church.
