He was born Oct. 1, 1981, in Little Rock. Mr. Rufus was a member of First Pentecostal Church of Bryant. He was a graduate of Joe T. Robinson High School and was attending Pulaski Tech. Survivors include his parents, Lawanda Colby and stepfather Chuck and Billy Rufus and stepmother Linda; four brothers, Billy Daunn Rufus (Shaunn's twin), Chris Carrington, Tyrone Rufus and Dion Rufus; seven sisters, Yontra L. Rufus , D Nicole Frazier and husband Greg, Tamika Wells and husband Chris, Lakeisah Robinson and husband Damion, Brittney V. Rufus, Chimera Hampton and Nichole Hampton. Services will be at noon Saturday at First Pentecostal Church of Bryant. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Griffin Leggett-Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Arkansas 5 North in Alexander. Family comments: He also is survived by a very special friend, Daphne Taylor, dearest friends “Dad Garland” and the Honeycutt family. Shaunn was adored by all of the children that he touched at Sunshine Academy and Baker Elementary. Shaunn loved life and loved his family and friends. Shaunn never met a stranger and he knew the meaning of what a friend really was. He had a smile that would light up a room as soon as he entered. Shaunn loved to sing and had the voice of an angel. He will truly be missed by all who loved him.
