Edward D. Whitehead, 76, of Lonsdale died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006.

He was born Oct. 28, 1929, in Saline County to Vander and Lola Whitehead.

Mr. Whitehead was a member of the Gravel Hill Baptist Church and served in the
Air Force for 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Jake and Eliza Terry
Whitehead; one brother, Kenneth Whitehead; and one sister, Iva Mongan.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Witham Whitehead; one son, Michael Whitehead
and wife Sharon of Dallas; one daughter, Renee Denosky and husband John of
Orlando, Fla.; one sister, Eva Shell of Benton; and two grandchildren, Stephen
and Christopher Denosky, both of Orlando, Fla.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ashby Funeral Home, with Clarence
Shell Jr. officiating.  Burial will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery on Arkansas 9.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Denosky, Christopher Denosky, David Mongan, Greg
Shell, Steven Shell, Doug Witham, Patrick James, Michael James and Curtis
Ferguson, Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Robert Johnson, Dr. James Gardner,
Earl James, Nolan James, Harvey Rison, Joe Tom Branch, Le Roy Hill, Dale Melton,
Harold Ferguson, Carl Fleming, Louis Tudor and Phil Flanders.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
