	The material transcribed below is from a special edition of the 
Scott County Advertiser newspaper of 3 April 1991, entitled "A Salute to 
Scott County Citizens 90 Years and Over." The interviews were done as
part of a celebration of the Bank of Waldron's 90th anniversary. They are
arranged alphabetically for presentation here. Pictures were included 
with these short biographies.

CARPENTER, Ruth Valerie: Ruth Carpenter was born April 9, 1899 in
Montgomery County, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Theoddisha and
Jefferson Pope. Her husband was the late Walter Carpenter. She has two
sons, Allen of Boles, Arkansas, and Ray of Ohio. She is a Baptist, and
became a resident of Pinewood Nursing Home December 29, 1986.
