The cemetery is located on the right side of the road about 5 miles. There are several graves there but only six with stones. This abandoned cemetery is sometimes called Brushy Cemetery or Shores Cemetery. The following tombstones were found and copied on 20 March 2000. Frank C. Kendall Co. 1, 52 Ill. Inf. Military marker John, husband of Mary Jane Shore born June 11, 1845, died June 22, 1914 Connected to the stone above is: Temple Ozalet Shore, daughter of John Born August 1890, died August 1892 W.A. Shore Died 1920 Infant Daughter of W.D. and B.M. McKay December 2, 1910 Mother of Jasper Haney Born 1837, Died March 25, 1900 [She was Nancy A. Pool, daughter of George & Agnes Pool of Benton County, Alabama. Nancy was born in South Carolina & married first Abner B. Pettit & second Stephen L. Haney.]
