She was born May 8, 1914 in Fairplay, Panola County, Texas to James Joseph Hester, Jr. and Sarah Amelia Cocke Hester. She was united in marriage to William Boyd Murdock on August 2, 1933 at the home of her parents in Seabrook, Texas. Ruth is survived by one son Thomas M. Murdock and his wife Patricia Duncan Murdock of Nella, Arkansas; one daughter-in-law, Bonnie Keckler Murdock of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas and a former daughter-in-law, Kitty Kelly Murdock of Clinton, Arkansas; nine grandchildren and their spouses: Jon and Glenda Murdock of Heber Springs, Arkansas, Kyle and Tonnie Murdock of Clinton, Arkansas, Charley and Kelly Murdock Billy of Bozeman, Montana, Robert and Wendy Murdock Russ of Oxnard, California, Bart and Melissa Murdock of Greenwood, Arkansas, Shane and Sarah Murdock Davis of Parks, Arkansas, Scott and Emily Murdock Parkhurst of Cauthron, Arkansas, Jack Murdock of Heber Springs, Arkansas, and Julie Murdock of Little Rock, Arkansas; twelve great-grandchildren: Tanya Murdock of Wynne, Arkansas, Jonathan Murdock of Heber Springs, Arkansas, Jay Murdock of Puyallup, Washington, Janine Murdock of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas, Jordan and Courtney Davis of Parks, Arkansas, Bret and Caitlin Murdock of Greenwood, Arkansas, Amy and Eric Parkhurst of Cauthron, Arkansas and Nicolas and Isaac Murdock of Heber Springs, Arkansas and two great-great grandchildren: Devonte Murdock of Wynne, Arkansas and Brianna Murdock of Puyallup, Washington. She is also survived by a brother, James Joseph Hester III of Seabrook, Texas and two nieces: Beth Hester of LaPorte, Texas and Janet Hester Sherwood and her husband Steve Sherwood of LaPorte, Texas. She was preceded in death by her oldest son, William Boyd Murdock, Jr. Ruth was a Licensed Vocational Nurse and was of the Methodist faith. She was a member of the Seabrook Methodist Church, Seabrook, Texas. The body will be cremated under the direction of Hall Funeral Home of Mena, Arkansas and the remains will be buried in the Murdock plot, next to her husband, in the Seabrook City Cemetery, Seabrook, Texas.
