The Rev. Ralph Whitten officiated at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, Bluewell. Burial followed in the cemetery. Born, April 5, 1908 in Arkansas, he was the son of James Perry and Martha Lou Ellen Hawkins Mason. He had been a resident of McDowell County the greater part of his life and had resided at the McDowell Continuous Care Center, Gary, for the past eight years. He was a retired coal miner and member of UMWA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ashley Mason. Survivors include three daughters; Barbara Hearl of Princeton, Donna Jean Clouse of Shady Point, Oklahoma, and Jan Pulice of Panama, Oklahoma; son Thomas M Mason of Fanrock, WV. Friends called at the chapel of Fanning Funeral Home, Welch from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Pallbearers were Bob and Wesley Berkhead, Benny Key, Jimmy Epperhart, Gene Moody and Johnny Morgan. Nora Edba Nasib Doyle Nora Edna Mason Doyle of Hodgen, Oklahoma passed away on August 26, 1972 in Poteau, Oklahoma. Nora was born on October 23, 1904 in Hartford, Arkansas, she was the daughter of James Perry and Martha Lou Ellen Hawkins Mason. She had been a resident of Hodgen, Oklahoma the greater part of her life. Burial was at Heavener Memorial Park. Survivors include her husband Samuel Lee Doyle of the home, daughter, Wanda Lee Branstetter, Independence, Missouri and son, Paul Emery Doyle of Independence, Missouri. One daughter, Velma Grafftas preceded her in death in 1970, one son, died in infancy and grandson Paul Alan Grafftas died of polio in 1963. Additional survivors: Brother, Poley Mason of Welch, WV. Sister's, Pearl Shearer and Lillian Elbertson of Poteau. Another sister Lucy Haley of San Pedro, CA. She leaves four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
