Mr. Nichols had been ill for three weeks with fever and after much suffering he was relieved on the morning of the 14th inst. only by the summons of death. A good man, a kind husband, an affectionate father has left a widow and four children. (from Greenwood Democrat, written by P.M. Claunts. The death was 14 Aug 1899. The clipping is undated.) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- From Mr. H. W. Penninger we learn of the death of the 6-month-old baby boy of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Nichols of Auburn, Tuesday. They had company Monday evening and sat up until about 11 o'clock and at the time of retiring the baby seemed in the best of health, and nothing was noticed wrong until the next morning when Mrs. Nichols went to the bed to take the little one up when it was discoverd to be dead. We were unable to learn the cause of its death. This is a sad blow to Mr. and Mrs. Nichols, and the DEMOCRAT extends the sincerest sympathies to them. The interment took place yesterday in Dawson cemetary near Burnville. (From the Greenwood Democrat. Clipping is undated. Death was 27 Feb 1894) --------------------------------------------------------------------------
