Helen J. Swaim was born Sept. 20, 1923, in Fort Smith of the Catholic faith. 
Helen Passed from this life on May 28, 2006. She was preceded in death by 
one daughter, Lana Carpenter, and one son, Larry Larson. She is survived by 
her husband , J.D. Swaim Jr.; two sons, Bob Larson and wife Linda of Van 
Buren and Greg Larson and wife Kathy of Fayetteville, N.C.; a step daughter, 
Judy Parker Coeur D'Alene, Idaho; four stepsons, Alan and David Swaim of Van 
Buren, Richard Swaim of Greenwood and Steven Swaim of California; one 
brother, Charles Schoeppey of Wichita Falls, Texas; 17 grandchildren; 21 
great grandchildren; 1 great-great- grandaughter; and a friend of many 
years, Betty J. Brooks of Hackett. Graveside services will be Wednesday, May 
31 10 A.M. at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, under the direction 
of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith. The family will visit with friends at 
Putman Funeral Home from 6 to 8 P.M. today. Contributions may be made at a 
church or charity of your choice and online tributes can be made at
