He was born on Tuesday, February 14, 1911 in Lockesburg, Arkansas to the late James F. and Cora Davis LOCKE. He was a retired supervisor for Weyerhaeuser, and a member of the Sweet Home Lodge #461, the Bellville Lodge #35, the Scottish Rite Valley of Ft. Smith, Texarkana Chapter #78, the Gideons, and the First Baptist Church of DeQueen where he served as a Deacon. He was preceded in death by his wife: Corinne McWhorter Locke on November 15, 1980; three brothers; four sisters; and two great-grandsons. He is survived by one son: James W. Locke of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; two daughters and sons-in-law; Margaret and Olin Hill of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Betty and Jimmie Taylor of Winnsboro, Louisiana; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mr. Locke were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2000 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmie Taylor and Rev. Faron Rogers officiating. Burial followed in the Oddfellows Section of the Lockesburg Cemetery. The family received friends from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday evening at the Funeral Home.
