In 1883 she married James Emett Drewry. In 1890 when they moved to Capron to live they were the second couple to move into the village. Adelaide Drewry is said to have been a devoted member of the Methodist Church and a charter member of Woman's Missionary Society, Through the years her home became a second home to many who were not of the family circle. It is said that she was ever faithful to the call of service and brought to every duty an understanding heart. She had patience and charity toward the faults and failings of others. She loved all people and they, in turn, loved her. With a modesty that denied her any special gifts but with a faith that challenges us to hold fast to the verities of life, it is said that she met the days with a sweetness and strength that grew with the years, denouncing when it became necessary but without bitterness, upholding always extremely high standards of living. It was said she was a good neighbor, a loyal friend, an affectionate wife and a devoted mother. Unstintingly she gave of herself in every relationship of life as if truly "Love took up the harp of life And smote on all the chords with might; Smote the chord of self Which passed in trembling out of sight."
